The Venue

We have decided to host our forever-after party at the beautiful River Run Lodge located on the outskirts of rustic Redmond, Oregon. This venue overlooks the majestic Deschutes river and is a sight to behold. Here a small preview of the location. We love it, and hope you will too!

Getting to Redmond, OR

As out-of-town’ers, we know that most of our friends and family will also be traveling across state lines for the big day. Luckily, Redmond is easy to get to from all directions. Here are some suggested travel options.

Airways

Probably the quickest way to get to Redmond is air travel. Redmond has a municipal airport (RDM) that is surprisingly well connected. There are frequent flights from many west coast cities including Seattle (SEA), Portland (PDX), San Francisco (SFO), and Los Angeles (LAX), and flights from further inland such as Denver (DEN), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Pheonix (PHX). Check HERE if your preferred airport and airline are listed, then fly away!

Once at the Redmond airport, you can easily find a way to get to your lodging with typical transit options. Shuttles are offered by many hotels in the area, including Eagle Crest Resort, which is within putting distance of the wedding venue. A bus can take you to the Redmond transport hub. Taxis and rideshares are available if you don’t want to rely on more public offerings. There are also multiple car rental agencies located at the airport if you’d like to drive yourself around and see the area. See the many transit options offered HERE.

Roadways

Oregon is centrally located between the majority of our guests’ home states, Washington and California, which means getting to Redmond by road is not out the question. Some basic directions are written here for a preview of the drive, however, please use your GPS/phone navigation to make sure you arrive safely and on time. Get directions using GOOGLE or APPLE maps.

If heading in from the northern state, you’ll want to take I-5 South until a bit before Vancouver, WA, then take I-205 South toward Salem. Once inside Oregon, head east on highway US-26 and eventually transition to US-97 heading south toward Redmond. If heading to Eagle Crest Resort or the wedding venue, head west on highway US-126 and it will be on your left.

If heading in from the southern state, you’ll want to take I-5 North until you get to Weed, CA, at which point you’ll exit onto highway US-97 heading north toward Klamath Falls. Continue into Oregon, past Klamath Falls and straight through to Redmond. If heading to Eagle Crest Resort or the wedding venue, head west on highway US-126 and it will be on your left.

If attempting to drive in from some other state, good luck! You’ll need it.

Railways

Unfortunately, there are no direct rail lines that pass through Redmond. But for all you Sheldon Coopers who insist on traveling by train, it is possible to make most of the distance using the railroad. Probably the lowest hassle route to take involves getting to Eugene or Klamath Falls, OR via the CASCADES or COAST STARLIGHT lines offered by Amtrak. From either of these cities, you’ll need to transfer to a bus operated by Pacific Crest Bus Lines (BEND-TO-EUGENE line or KLAMATH-FALLS-TO-REDMOND line) to get to Redmond airport. From there, you’ll have a few options to go the last mile to your lodging, including ride share, taxi, bus, and shuttle.

Where to Stay

As with any mid-sized city in the USA, there are plenty of lodging options to choose from in Redmond, Oregon. We won’t list out all of the choices here, but many decent options of different types are in town, including hotels, motels, resorts, Airbnb, Vrbo, even camping and RV. However, we do have one favorite place to stay which we highly recommend to all of our guests.

Eagle Crest Resort

Eagle Crest Resort is a central Oregon vacation getaway that combines luxury and adventure to meet the relaxation needs of anyone who stay here. Personally, we stayed here and were blown away by all the resort had to offer us in our short stay. And it is within walking distance (literally!) of River Run Lodge, our chosen wedding venue. We want all of the guests to our wedding to have a fun and memorable experience, and that is why we highly recommend staying at Eagle Crest Resort. More information about the resort HERE.

Discount for Wedding Guests

The bride-to-be worked tirelessly to secure a small block of discounted rooms at Eagle Crest Resort reserved exclusively for guests of the wedding. There are two room types in this block, a King suite ($190/night) and a Two-Queen room ($180/night), and the discounted stay includes check-in 9/17 and check-out 9/19, however you are free to extend your booking before or after the wedding.

To claim your discounted room you must call the resort at 855-682-4786 and request to book a room for the event Mooers and Thayer Wedding. If you do not call and mention the event name, you will not get a discounted room. The number of discounted rooms are limited, so hurry and book ASAP! If there are no discounted rooms left when you call, please let us know and we will see if it is possible to add more rooms so you can book at the reduced rate.
